[Rookshire] Stupid music permissions
This is a catchall opt in/out for Asch's "the background music haunting me occasionally tells me useful shit" power! Being that it's of the Seventh Fonon (which is memory in addition to sound), it occasionally hits into the 'memory' section and provides Extremely Vaguely Useful information.
However, because it's so vague, it's easily to opt out entirely from that portion of the power - even if you don't, it's not going to tell all your secrets and tragic backstory. Just let me know on this post that you'd rather not have that happen, and I'll keep the BGM to mood music, setting music, and Asch himself.
You can also specifically opt in to this power, in which case it'd be helpful if you answered a couple of questions -
1. Does your character have a theme song, leitmotif, signature instrument, or other musical cue that's strongly associated with them?
2. What kind of tone does your character's personality have? This includes their history and aspects of their personality that they might not immediately portray.
Again, remember that this is generally going to be pretty vague! Asch might have the power but, especially lacking in an entire concept of pop culture, he's not going to be able to interpret it for shit for a long time beyond "oh, that's this person's music, they're coming up behind me."
Also this being Rookshire, this only applies during Powers On parts of the month.

1. Persona as a series has never been a huge one for character motifs, but that being said, Futaba does have a Palace in this game, which has its own music along with its another version. A more lighthearted, playful version of this plays in Persona 5 Dancing, as follows. Additionally, in her PQ2 teaser trailer, Break it Down is what plays.
I think it would probably be fair to say that Oracle would probably have her own sorts of music associated with her, along with being a part of the Phantom Thieves. To that end, it'd be a crime to not link Last Surprise (and its remix, which was the other song that she danced to in P5D), Life Will Change, and Wake Up, Get Up, Get Out There. Point being, the music associated with Oracle would be a LOT more flashy and extra. As the Phantom Thieves do.
And at those points where the lines between Futaba and Oracle blur, that's where I'll put Swear to my Bones, Hoshi To Bokura To ("With the Stars and Us"), Our Beginning and frankly Rivers in the Desert would probably go here too. idk I could link Persona OSTs all day if you let me.
Also recommended listening that I can't quite include in the categories above includes the other pieces Lyn's done for the series, including Infinity, Break In to Break Out, Dark Sun, Invitation to Freedom. It's a really distinctive style that's hard to pin down - but definitely with heavy influences of jazz, some jpop/jrap notes, and forays into things like showtunes and etc.
2. This one is tricky because he's already seen/is seeing she doesn't like showing. That being said, for music I do think there'd be sort of... dual tones. I'm not gonna summarize her personality for you but I do think it'd be decently clear over time that there are two major sides to her. For. Obvious reasons. But also that there's a bit of a struggle between what she feels is expected of her and what she wants to be versus who she is. Notes that had been sort of starting to come into alignment, but who knows what'll happen here in game.
idk I'm fine with hashing things out as we go, honestly.

Easy Rider and Gone were totes Gladdy's addition to the roadtrip soundtrack CD they made have fun. Please feel free to play sappy romance shit from Altissia when he's being gross with Iggy too <3

Prompto himself likes to act bright and cheery (perhaps not as often when they've been constantly under stress, but he still tries), however his music is notably more somber. On the other hands, he can be quite hopeful. There's a good chance he picked out some of the CDs for their ride that have quick beats, like Afrojack. There's a pretty large variety to work with.
And, of course, Stand By Me.

In terms of villainy, there's a song when he's on a mission with the MC at the start of the game when said MC is secretly questioning Liam's morality: Self-justified sacrifices, actual song starts around 1 min.
Another, much more sinister version of it plays when Liam appears as the villainous final boss: Nemesis
Then, when Liam becomes the hero in the sequel (where I play him from), the soundtrack associated with him shifts into something more heroic, but has a familiar back-beat as the villainous songs that were initially associated with him: Sacrifice.
As for a leitmotif, not clear which leitmotif is Liams, but I'm playing him now so I'm going to make the call: Let's go with this one at 3m 20s.
2. Ranges from outright evil and villainous to downright heroic and epic, depending on his convictions. Liam pretends he is always acting nobly and doing the right thing, but in truth, though he is always fighting for one particular goal, when he does what he does because it is the easiest path rather than the best path, he is the villain, and when he is fighting for his goal because it is the only option left to help people, he is the hero. For example, you can see the difference in the music above when Liam decides to sacrifice the lives of other people (in the first link he tells his team not to hurt anyone if they can help it, but his team still kills innocent people; in the boss battle music he has decided "I don't care about killing innocents if I get what I want") versus when he decides to have the sacrifice be his own (in the third link, he decides to sacrifice his own life to save the universe). I'll try to make it clear when I tag what side of the hero-villain spectrum he's currently leaning to.
In Rookshire, Liam will also give a general feeling of concealing himself - you can assume he is hiding a LOT on purpose. Everything about his identity would be devastating to his relationships with others for him to reveal, from the most basic things to the most complex parts of his history.
